VANDRINGSSTAVEN HAR STARTET SIN FERD FRA STIKLESTAD

I morges, fredag 26. februar 2010, ble vandrings-staven klargjort til langferd fra Stiklestad til Santiago de Compostela. Prost Nils Åge Aune og direktør ved Stiklestad Nasjonale Kultursenter overvåker det hele.

The relay has begun
The first Norwegian partcipant, Trond Gilde starts on his bicycle trip from Stiklestad in Norway 26 February. With the baton on his back he will first cycle to the city of Levanger to connect with the monks of Munkeby Monastery (the world's northernmost Cistercian Monastery). The monks will write a greeting (in French) in the diary, and Trond Gilde will continue on bicycle 95 km to Trondheim where there will be an exchange of the baton.

27 February the baton continues with our second partcipant Geirmund Lykke who continues with the baton on skis for the next stage from Trondheim. There will be many exchanges of the baton on the road through Norway, Denmark, Germany, France and finally Compostela in Spain. Thank you and good luck to all partcipants!
